“Waiting in Day 2” BTW4G Bible Journaling Process

As I get close to wrapping up the June devotional from BTW4G, “Waiting in Day 2”, I wanted to share another fun process with you all!  You can check out the video for this process over on my YouTube channel:

img_9289The main technique that I tried with this page involved printing some digital papers onto wax paper.  When I print onto wax paper using my ink jet printer, I am able to transfer those images directly onto the page.  This results in a cool vintage looking affect, which fits perfectly for this kit!

To use this technique, the first step is to use washi tape to secure the wax paper onto a regular piece of printer paper.  The best bet is to make sure all the edges are sealed.  I tried to be minimal with my tape at first and the paper did get stuck in my printer, causing me to have to give it another try.  But, the second try was much more successful!

img_9292Once the image is printed onto the wax paper, all you have to do is very carefully cut out the part that you would like to apply to the page.  Then, place it image-down onto your Bible page, being careful not to shift the wax paper as your press down.  The image transfers and dries very quickly.  Sometimes you can get a second generation imprint from using the same wax paper again, but this doesn’t always end with a great impression, as I quickly learned.

After transferring the digital papers from the wax paper, the rest of this page was very simple.  A combination of clear stickers, washi tape, ephemera pieces, alpha stickers, and stamps.  Nothing too revolutionary, but that is what I love about the By The Well 4 God kits.  They send you so many supplies, that you don’t have to reinvent the wheel to make sure you have enough for the entire devotional.  I am never lacking for anything, leaving tons of options open to me while I am journaling.  I just love that!

Have you ever tried printing on wax paper?  If you do, I’d love to hear about it!  Let me know in the comments below or tag me on Instagram when you share your photo!
