“There Will Be Rainbows” Art Journal Process

img_3642There is just something super exciting about starting a new art journal!  This week, I was able to dive into a brand new art journal from Dina Wakley, which is providing me with some extra challenges due to the variety of materials the pages are made out of.  Right from the get-go, I was confronted with a denim page…so fun!

Inspired by a recent “Take Ten” project, I chose a collage of scrap paper to create an impactful rainbow spread.  Rainbows have really been speaking to me lately.  To me they represent the happiness after a storm.  And, since we are all caught up in one crazy storm lately, I find myself searching for rainbows and holding on to the promise that rainbows will return.

img_3640This actually was not a very complicated art journal page….just a lot of tearing and gluing.  But, sometimes that perfectly suits my mood!  I love how the messiness of art journaling can still result in a beautiful piece of artwork.  God can make beautiful things out of even the biggest messes!

img_3639I hope you were able to watch the process for this page.  It was a fun one to work on, and it was absolutely the perfect way to break in my new art journal!  Hoping you find time to get creative and get messy this week!

Keep it creative,

I'm a mom of 3 who loves all things creative! My current passion is bible journaling, a creative outlet that has really shaped my faith journey. I'm also excited about diving into some memory-keeping projects and dabbling in a bit of art journaling.
