Have you ever been so excited about a project that it is almost hard to start? That is how I feel about the “Arise” devotional from Illustrated Faith and Planet Fernandez. Llanet’s words always speak to me, and I love her insight. Plus, the colors and graphics for this kit are right up my alley! I really want to savor the kit and take my time, so I decided to approach it in a different way:
“Arise” is all about focusing on the promises of God, especially when you are in the midst of “fire”. Sometimes the fire can be trials, sometimes it is a cleansing fire, and sometimes it is fire power that God gives you to go out into the world. I decided to break down this devotional and to spend a portion of my morning quiet time reading, meditating on it, and doing a few limited creative entries in a separate travelers notebook. I am really excited about using my “junk” traveler’s notebook from Yellow Paper House!
This is definitely a different approach for me. Normally, I study and then sit down to do a Bible “entry”. I don’t want it to feel like that this time. I am hoping that working little by little, the creativity and the study will flow seamlessly in and out of each other. I will definitely keep you updated on how the process is going!
Are you joining in on “Arise”? What are you studying during this crazy season of life?
Keep it creative,
