Arteza Acrylic Marker Review & Art Journal Process

img_0295Arteza recently sent me several new art supplies to review, including their 40 piece Acrylic Marker set.  Although I received the supplies for free, the opinions are all my own.  I was excited to try these, especially in my art journaling, because I have been in search of some paint pens to use on a regular basis.  I decided to jump right in and create an art journaling entry using these markers so I could see how well they worked in action!

Overall I was really pleased with how well these markers performed!  They actually come with two different nubs, a rounded broad tip and a finer point tip.  I appreciate that I do not have to buy two whole different sets of markers to get that kind of variety.  The markers performed beautifully on the burlap of the Dina Wakley media journal, which was something else I was really watching out for.  This media journal has challenged the normal supplies I reach for, so I was pleased to see that these acrylic markers would be affective.  I achieved some nice detail work that I would not have been able to do with paint and a paint brush.

Like many of my art journal pages, this one definitely evolved as I worked on it.  There were a few misfires, but I am pleased with the result.  Much of the background material is left untouched which is a change for me.  I was especially struck by the expression on my woman’s face.  It is like she knows something spectacular is about to happen.  And with all of the tragedy and hurt going on in the world, I love the possibility that something amazing is just around the corner.  You can check out the video for more details on the process!

I would recommend the Arteza Acrylic markers whole heartedly.  Once again, I appreciate the color variety that Arteza provides, and for the price, these will work great for a beginner to intermediate level art journaler!  Let me know if you end up checking out these markers!

Keep it creative,
