“Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.” -Psalm 37:4
When you spend your time reflecting on the remarkable things that God has done both in your life and throughout this world, you will discover true delight. You will be moved to worship and celebrate Him in all kinds of ways. And, you will find that the desires of your heart are mysteriously realigned with God’s heart. Focusing on the good and the joyful not only lifts your heart, but brings you closer to God!
I know I write this every month, but I am truly loving this devotional from By the Well 4 God. “Psalms – Making it Personal” walks us through several Psalms, pointing out the different way the authors used these works to connect, worship, cry out, and glorify God. The devotional also challenges us to compose our own Psalm as we journey through. For Day 9, I focused on Psalm 37 which refers to the delight we find in the Lord and how we can celebrate that delight.

This month also marks my favorite coordinating paper pack from By the Well 4 God. The color scheme and the patterns are just so beautiful and inspiring. I used several of the papers to create a partial rainbow on my page. I also took them over to my sewing machine to add some texture and detail work to the rainbow. It turned out so well! These papers are so fun to work with and add a gorgeous element to these entries.
Behind the layered rainbow piece, I added stamping in a light tattered rose color using a large background stamp called “Patterns of Faith”. This softened the edges of the rainbow and created a nice palette for the page. I also used the “Cry Out” stamp set to add line drawings of people worshipping. This might be my favorite stamp set this month. So simple, beautiful, and right on trend. Absolutely gorgeous!

As I was layering my rainbow onto the page, I did have to trim off some of the edges. This worked out nicely, because I was able to use the scraps to frame and mat my journaling. I love that I was able to pull the texture to the top of the page!
The rest of the entry came together pretty easily with a few stickers and paper cut outs. I will truly be sad when this devotion is over, and I hope to continue journaling through the Psalms. With the craziness of the world these days, it is so soothing to my heart to focus on these wonderful words!
