I mentioned earlier this week that my scrapbooking supplies were feeling just a bit neglected recently. I have been spending so much time in my planners that I have not done a lot of memory keeping. Well, it is a new month and a new season, so I figured it was time to get back to it. Plus, I had beautiful supplies calling my name!
I dove into the “Tori” collection from Felicity Jane (plus, some of my leftover FJ supplies) and created a couple of pages in my traveler’s notebook. It has been a while since I have done memory keeping in this format, and I will be honest, I LOVED coming back to it. Traveler’s notebooks are what brought me back to scrapbooking in the first place, because the size comes together so quickly. And, even though the pages are small, you can pack a lot on there!

I also had the opportunity to use one of my favorite techniques…paper weaving! I love the gorgeous branding strips that Felicity Jane has on their papers, and I have always saved them to use every bit of the product. For this project, I actually trimmed them all off and weaved them together to create a beautiful woven tapestry piece for my introduction page. There are so many things you can do with these woven paper creations, and it is a great way to use up branding strips and scraps in your stash. Plus, it is a fun activity to do while relaxing and watching your favorite show in the evening…so fun!

The first layout in my TN that I created with actual photos was meant to document a recent apple picking outing that my family took. We haven’t gone out much at all this summer, so this was a very special treat for all of us. This is one of the few times that my photos actually coordinated with some of the papers and colors in my spread. That isn’t something I usually worry about, but in this case, it was a happy accident! I also stepped out of my comfort zone and when stamp crazy on this spread! Haha, once I got stamping, I just couldn’t stop!
Have you ever made your own embellishments with paper weaving before? What have you made? I’d love to hear about it in the comments below!
Keep it creative,
